Grand Rapids, MI, June 30, 2010 - X-Rite (NASDAQ: XRIT), Incorporated, the world leader in color management and measurement technologies, announces today the availability of a software update for ColorChecker Passport. This new version (1.0.2) features full compatibility with Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3, including profile naming when executing the “Export with Preset” function. Software enhancements are also applicable to users of Lightroom 2 and the free-standing ColorChecker Passport software when used in lieu of the Lightroom plug-in.
ColorChecker Passport Version 1.0.2:
- Is now fully compatible with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3
- Has improved color extraction for better profile accuracy
- Includes improved patch detection, eliminating errors in cases where the luminance of light-colored patches meets or exceeds the luminance of the white patch.
Upgrading is simple, easy
Upgrading to the new version of ColorChecker Passport is simple. Upon launch of the ColorChecker Passport application itself (not the Lightroom plug-in), a dialogue box will appear indicating that the new Version 1.0.2 is available, asking the user to authorize the download. In the event this automatic prompt does not appear, simply choose “Help” and “Check for Updates...” from the main ColorChecker Passport menu. Once the software has been downloaded and installed, simply relaunch either ColorChecker Passport or Lightroom (if you are using the plug-in).
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3: Free 30-day trial
ColorChecker Passport users who have not yet acquired Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 can download a free 30-day trial version from <http://tryit.adobe.com/us/lightroom/?sdid=EPGMN>. After opening ColorChecker Passport Software upgrading to Version 1.0.2 is very easy. This allows users to immediately take advantage of improved color extraction and patch detection.
Online Interactive Training Available
Registered ColorChecker Passport users also have access to the ColorChecker Passport Interactive Training Video. This video provides clear, easy-to-follow instructions on how to use ColorChecker Passport in both Raw and JPEG workflows. It is divided into sections that can be viewed in any order to fit user needs.
